In the race of achieving personal and global prosperity, many men and now increasingly a lot of women decide to move out. During these times the person acquires themselves a bachelor pad. To the outside world this idea sounds exotic with a lot of time to search for one’s soul.
My friends tell me that well along with the soul searching, you learn about other things like water pipe seepages and the phenomena of a missing sock. The biggest problem though, is the food. The people from the outside world assume that Mr. Bachelor is a five star chef by now because he lives alone, but the truth is when you have that much freedom on your hand, cutting vegetable, cleaning meat, letting things boil is NOT a priority.
Well here are five easy meals for my bachelor friends to fix in no time:
A dog might be man’s best friend, but potatoes are a bachelor man best friend.
These brown blobs of happiness could be easily made into a dish I like to call Tato-po-tato.
To make them, simply take a few potatoes, skinned or unskinned. Chop them into 6 pieces each and put on the boil. Meanwhile, add some oil in a pan and toss a few tomatoes in it. When they soften up a little, add salt, red chili, green chili, black pepper and garlic and make a purée. When the potatoes have boiled, mix in the puree or simply use it as a dip sauce! If you want to make the meal meatier, add some chopped up sausages to it. Enjoy!
Egg Salad Sandwich
Mash up a boiled egg with a fork. Mix together with mayonnaise, chopped celery and onion. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and curry powder to taste. Mix with a spoon. Toast a couple of bread slices and put a layer of lettuce on one slice of toasted bread, spread the egg mixture on top of the lettuce, and put another slice of toasted bread on top. This is the easiest and most delicious sandwich you will ever make.
This Omelet is cooked in around 5 minutes and can be eaten at any time of the day!
Beat eggs in a bowl and season with salt, pepper and a hint of mixed herbs. Lightly fry finely chopped onions, mushrooms and olives in a nonstick pan. Pour the egg mixture over them. When the omelet is cooked from one side, place a slice of cheese on it and fold. When it has completely cooked through, add a dash of butter. Couple it with some toasted bread.
As you might have figured out already ‘cocoa toast’ is a chocolate French toast. All you have to do is beat two eggs with half a cup of milk, 1 tbspn Sugar and 1 tbspn cocoa powder. Make sure you aren’t left with blocks of cocoa. As soon as the batter is ready, cut a few pieces of bread in half and dip them in the batter. Fry in medium hot oil until golden brown.
Don’t be afraid. It is easier than it sounds.
Boil spaghetti in heated, salted warm water for 11 minutes. Meanwhile add some oil in a pan and fry a few chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, garlic, coriander seeds, salt and black pepper. Let them fry until soft and mash it to a paste in the pan. After the spaghetti has boiled, drain the water out and add to the pan with the puree for 4 minutes. That is literally all you have to do to make it up to your girlfriend, some home-made pasta.
